Alex "Smitty" Kaczor, 85, of Hamilton, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.
He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton Township, NJ. Smitty was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 1st Cavalry Division. He spent most of his working life with the State of NJ Dept. of Transportation as a heavy equipment mechanic. During retirement, he enjoyed gardening and cooking, but most of all he enjoyed visiting his grandsons in Virginia and more recently their daily telephone visits.
Son of the late Marcin and Katarzyna Kaczor and predeceased by his siblings, Ted Kaczor, Mary Siorek, Walt Kaczor and Bertha Gandor, Smitty is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy Kaczor; three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Brian and Tammy Kaczor of Meherrin, VA, James and Tetyana Kaczor of Richmond, VA and Kevin Kaczor of Jacobstown; his grandsons, Joshua, Japheth, Jordan and Justus Kaczor of Meherrin, VA; his step granddaughter, Sasha Shevelyok; four brothers, Joseph Kaczor of Ellisdale, John Kaczor of North Hanover, Victor Kaczor of VA and Carl Kaczor of Yardville, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Smitty's name to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250. Arrangements under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
