Alan R. Grover, 73, of Robbinsville, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Trenton, he was a longtime Robbinsville area resident. Alan graduated from Trenton State College and later went on to work for the State of New Jersey, Department of Health, retiring after 38 years of service. Alan served his community in many ways including as a certified tutor for Adult Basic Literacy and ESL, was a member of the Princeton University Art Museum , the Trenton City Museum, the Whitesbog Preservation Trust, and a member of the WHYY organization. He also enjoyed staying active and was a member of the U-Fit Gym of Hamilton, NJ and participated in the annual Spring Lake 5K. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Alan also loved going to car shows, wine tasting and going to Trenton Thunder baseball games.
Son of the late James V. and Ellen Grover, he was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Grover. Alan is survived by his siblings, Ellen Grover of Chicago, James W. Grover (Carla) of Freehold, and Barbara Emmons (Bill) of Cream Ridge; his nieces and nephews, Lori Ann Lin (Andrew) of Freehold, Bob G. Kiely (Tara) of Grand Rapids, MI, Scott R. Grover and Sean P. Grover of Sanford, FL and James A. Guy of NJ; his cousins, Brenda Angevine (late, Dale), Janice Angevine, and Chip Angevine, six grandnephews and one grandniece as well as many devoted, dedicated and kindhearted friends that he considered family.
A viewing will be held Friday, May 21 st from 2-5pm with a funeral service to begin at 5pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. A graveside service will be held 11am Saturday, May 29th at the Allentown Methodist Cemetery
