Adam John Karas, 88, of Robbinsville passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28th, with his loving family by his side at Compassionate Care, Trenton. For the past two years, he was a resident of Hamilton Continuing Care. Born in Washington Township on December 15, 1921 to Walenty Karas and his wife Annie Goth, Adam graduated from Allentown High School then served in the U. S. Coast Guard Reserve as a Machinists Mate, First Class, on the USS Uniontown. He went on to work as an Upholsterer for Diamond Brothers in Hightstown, NJ and was self-employed until retirement. Adam was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will live on in our hearts and memories as a man who was a skilled upholsterer, who loved to work outdoors and whose ultimate joy was experiencing his children's journeys through life thus creating the stories we now share.
He is predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Agnes Lorretta Hancarik and his sister, Helen Gilbert of Hamilton. He is survived by his sister Rose Johnson of Hamilton and her children Bonnie and George; his five children, Robert and his wife Irene Karas of Southampton; Barbara Lawlor of Hamilton; Susan and her husband Thomas Spang of Andover, MA; Edward Karas and MerryAnn Perpetua of Ewing; and the youngest, Thomas and his wife Tracy Karas of Robbinsville; eight grandchildren, Robert Karas and fiancee Brenda, Lindsay Long and husband Trevor, Michelle Lawlor and Jim, Kara Roman and husband Jonathan, Adam Spang, David Karas, Kristen and Gavin Karas; and two great grandchildren, Tyler Long and Keira Karas; and a life-long friend, Margaret Boniface.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 10am at St. John's Church 1282 Yardville Rd. Allentown. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home 114 So. Main St. Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J.
